MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University women's tennis team will make its 25th NCAA Division II Tournament appearance after receiving an at-large berth Tuesday night.

The Buccaneers (17-3) earned the No. 3 seed in the NCAA South Regional, and will meet sixth-seeded Benedict (19-5) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lynn's Perper Tennis Complex in Boca Raton, Florida. The winner will play No. 2-seeded Lynn (21-3) in the South Region 2 championship at noon Sunday.

This marks the first meeting between Barry and Benedict. The Tigers went unbeaten in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and won the league's postseason tourament. They are on a nine-match win streak. 

Eighth-year coach Avi Kigel, who is coming off his 200th career victory over Sunshine State Conference regular season champion Saint Leo in the semifinals of the league's postseason tournament, has directed the Bucs to the NCAA Tournament in every year he's been coaching at Barry.
