Baseball Faces Rival Lynn in SSC Series

Bucs head to Boca Raton for Conference Series

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry baseball heads north to Boca Raton to take on Sunshine State Conference rival, Lynn in the Buccaneers' last away series of the regular season.

The Bucs come into the series off of taking 2-of-3 from SSC foe Rollins this past weekend. Lynn is coming off a 13-3 over local opponent Florida Memorial.

The Fighting Knights are 24-20 on the year and 11-10 in SSC play, putting them in fourth place. Barry is currently in seventh.

Last year, Lynn took 2-of-3 from the Bucs in a series that Barry leads 53-45-1 all time.

Threats at the plate for Lynn include sophomore catcher John Silviano, team leader in batting average (.381), home runs (25), RBI (58) and runs (57). Senior outfielder John Borup leads Lynn in hits (67) and doubles (67).

On the mound, LU will look to starters like junior RHP Frank Grandinette, team leader in ERA (4.98), innings pitched (77.2), starts (12), strikeouts (71) and wins (5), and closers such as junior RHP Payton Smith, team leader in saves (5).

The series will begin Friday afternoon at 3 PM and continue on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 12 PM. All the action can be watched and followed HERE.
