MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry baseball returns to the field this weekend for its final home weekend series of the regular season as it takes on Sunshine State Conference opponent, Rollins.
The Buccaneers come into the weekend 20-20 on the year and 4-11 in the SSC, 8
th place in the standings. Facing Barry is a Tars team standing at 21-19 this season and 6-12 in conference play, sitting just above the Bucs in the league table.
Threats at the plate for the Tars include Tyler Fairbanks, team leader in BA with a .489, Grant Ashline, leads the team with 55 hits, and Christopher Corbe, leads the Tars with eight homeruns and 45 RBI.
On the mound, RC will look to starters like Brian Auerbach, team leader in wins with five, strikeouts with 53 and IP with 66.1 and Matt Hendricks is team leader in saves with six.
Friday night's game will be a special occasion for Barry baseball as alumnus player Chuck Sennett will be throwing out the first pitch to lead off proceedings. Sennett was a member of the Barry U Baseball team and starting second baseman from 1986 to 1989. He began working at Miami Country Day School in 1992 and has been serving as the Athletic Director since 2003.
