Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. — The Barry Buccaneers knocked off the Rollins Tars 5-1 on Sunday in Sunshine State Conference women's tennis action at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
The second-ranked Bucs (14-2, 5-2 SSC) took two of the three doubles. The Bucs' 22nd-ranked team of Emma Onila and Zuza Maciejewska dismantled the Tars' top pair, Shannon Etten and Carli Davis 8-2 at number one. At number two, 13th-ranked Sonja Larsen and Ana Pain handled Johanna Olsson and Teresa Kaiser 8-4.
The Tars (11-7, 2-4 SSC) took their only point at number three as Fabiana Vitanza and Emma Wookey defeated Barbora Kijasova and Judith Bohnenkamp 8-6.
In singles, only three matches finished, but the Bucs dominated them. Eighth-ranked Maciejewska shutout Kaiser 6-0, 6-0 at number two. Larsen, ranked 11th, was nearly as dominant at number three, beating Olsson 6-1, 6-0. Kijasova closed out the match at number five, 6-0, 6-2 over Wookey.
The Bucs travel over to Davie, Fla., on Thursday, Apr. 21 for a makeup match against seventh-ranked Nova Southeastern.
