Box Score 2 TAMPA, Fla. – Barry baseball was overwhelmed by its toughest challenge of the season as it was swept in Saturday's doubleheader against Tampa, 12-11, 10-8.
In the first game, the Buccaneers mounted a furious comeback, trailing 11-5 in the top of the 9
th inning, Barry mounted a heroic challenge to the Spartans that resulted in a tied game after nine. However in the 10
th inning, Tampa would score on a wild pitch and would end up winning the game.
UT reliever Bryan Tarricone would earn his first win of the year in a one strikeout, 1.2 IP effort. Barry reliever
Erik Bauer would go to 0-2 on the year.
In the second game, the Spartans would take an early lead and extend in in the 6
th and 8
th innings to sweep the series.
UT reliever Mark Mocliar earned his first win of the year in a 2.2 IP effort in which he struck out five. Barry reliever
Erik Bauer received the loss in a 1.2 IP effort.
Barry now stands at 9-6 overall and 2-4 in the SSC. Tampa sits at 11-1 and 3-0 in the conference.
