Baseball Swept In DH By Tampa

#1-ranked Spartans too much for Bucs

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TAMPA, Fla. – Barry baseball was overwhelmed by its toughest challenge of the season as it was swept in Saturday's doubleheader against Tampa, 12-11, 10-8.

In the first game, the Buccaneers mounted a furious comeback, trailing 11-5 in the top of the 9th inning, Barry mounted a heroic challenge to the Spartans that resulted in a tied game after nine. However in the 10th inning, Tampa would score on a wild pitch and would end up winning the game.

 UT reliever Bryan Tarricone would earn his first win of the year in a one strikeout, 1.2 IP effort. Barry reliever Erik Bauer would go to 0-2 on the year.

In the second game, the Spartans would take an early lead and extend in in the 6th and 8th innings to sweep the series.
UT reliever Mark Mocliar earned his first win of the year in a 2.2 IP effort in which he struck out five. Barry reliever Erik Bauer received the loss in a 1.2 IP effort.

Barry now stands at 9-6 overall and 2-4 in the SSC. Tampa sits at 11-1 and 3-0 in the conference.

Up next for the Bucs is a two game series against Chestnut Hill beginning Tuesday, March 1st at  PM.
