MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- After defeating Palm Beach Atlantic last night 11-8, #24 Barry baseball now sets its sights on the defending NCAA Division II national champions, #1-ranked Tampa.

The Buccaneers face their biggest test so far against a Spartans team that is coming off a series win over West Florida, winning two games to one back on Feb. 12-14.

The Spartans have a formidable roster with talent at the plate and mound.

At bat, the Spartans have threats such as junior shortstop Kevin Santa, who leads the team with a .500 BA, 19 hits and nine RBI and junior catcher J.D. Osborne who leads UT with three home runs and tied with Santa in RBI.

On the mound, the Spartans may turn to pitchers such as senior LHP Brad Hencke, who leads the team with a 0.53 ERA in 17.0 IP and junior RHP Christopher Williams who leads UT with 18 strikeouts.

This is the biggest test of the Bucs' season, a series win would a statement to the Sunshine State Conference and the country that the Bucs are ready compete for titles again.
