Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University women's tennis team opened the season with an 8-1 win over Palm Beach Atlantic Wednesday.
The No. 4 Buccaneers will host No. 21 Valdosta State 10 a.m. Saturday. No. 39 PBA fell to 2-3 overall.

Ana Pain defeated Yoanna Peshev and Valerie Nagovitcina, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles.
Emma Onila and
Barbora Kijasova were 8-5 winners at No. 2 over Kathi Tesar and Conti.
Rudenko's singles win gave the Buccaneers a 4-0 lead in the first-to-five match. Leading by a set, the fourth-ranked Pain was forced to retire with an injury, allowing Peshev to collect the Sailfish's lone win at No. 3 singles. No. 12 Onila won a first-set tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-2), and then coasted through the second set, winning 6-0, at No. 4 singles to wrap up the win for Barry.
No. 11 Larsen defeated Tesar, 7-6 (7-1), 6-2, at No. 1 singles. Maciejewska pulled out a third-set super tiebreaker to beat Nagovitcina, 6-3, 2-6, 10-5, at No. 2 singles. Kijasova outlasted Maja Jovic, 3-6, 6-3, 10-6, in another super tiebreaker verdict at the No. 5 position.
