Baseball Faces First Series of 2016 this Weekend

Bucs play a four-game series against Wisconsin-Parkside

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Beginning the 2016 season with four straight single games, Barry baseball takes on its first series as it plays a four-game stint against Wisconsin-Parkside. 

Defeating Colorado Christian 13-5 on Tuesday night, the Buccaneers head into the weekend standing at 3-1 on the season and with the #18/#19 ranking in the country.

Facing them will be a Wisconsin-Parkside team aiming to upset the Bucs and start their season on a high note.

To do so, the Rangers will rely on returning stars like junior C/OF Jake Kolasinski, who led the team in hitting last year with a .321 BA, 43 hits, nine doubles, seven homeruns and 33 RBI.

Also returning is senior infielder DJ Peltz, who was third on the team with a .272 BA, 31 hits, eight doubles and 16 RBI.

Key returners on the mound for the Rangers are junior Josh Serio, who led the team with 62 strikeouts and five wins in 63.0 IP and sophomore Tyler Jandron, who was second on the team with 46 strikeouts in 47.1 IP.

First pitch for Friday's night game is at 6 PM with Saturday's doubleheader beginning at 1 PM and the final game on Sunday beginning at 1 PM. All the action can be watched live HERE.
