WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry University women's tennis team clinched at least a share of the Sunshine State Conference regular season championship, beating host Rollins, 9-0, Saturday.

The No. 2 Buccaneers (16-1, 7-0 SSC) have one more conference match remaining against No. 5 Saint Leo next Saturday at home. No. 4 Nova Southeastern (17-1, 7-1) finished the regular season with a win over Florida Southern Saturday. The Sharks are currently second in the league. Barry beat Nova earlier this week.

Rollins (7-11, 3-3) put up a good battle at No. 1 doubles before the Bucs No. 9-ranked pair of Ana Pain and Sonja Larsen eventually sealed a 9-7 win over Shannon Etten and Carli Davis. Larsen and Pain improved to 17-0, including a 13--0 record at the No. 1 flight and 7-0 in the SSC.

Barry's No. 3-ranked duo of Linda Fritschken and Emma Onila defeated Johanna Olsson and Fabiana Vitanza, 8-1, at No. 2. Elisabeth Abanda and Jasi Witherspoon's 8-3 victory over Zoe Monge and Taylor Brown at the No. 3 spot marked the 14th time this season Barry has swept pairs play. The Bucs have won all three doubles matches against the last four opponents.

Witherspoon pulled out a 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 win over Emma Wookey at No. 6 singles. It was her second triumph in a third-set super tiebreaker this season. Ranked third in the country, Onila defeated Olsson, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 3 in her second match since recovering from an injury. At the top flight, sixth-ranked Larsen beat 32nd-ranked Etten, 6-1, 6-2.

Abanda continued her steady play, beating Davis, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2 singles -- a spot she owns a 5-0 record. Fritschken, who is ranked 27th in the nation, defeated Vitanza, 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 4 spot. Pain, who is ranked 19th in the South Region, was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Brown at No. 5.

Barry will host No. 16 Flagler at 2 p.m. Sunday at Buccaneer Tennis Center.
