MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University women's tennis team swept Eckerd, 9-0, Saturday.
Jay Jay Lubin picked up her first collegiate wins for the No. 2 Buccaneers (13-1, 4-0 Sunshine State Conference) in both singles and doubles.
Lubin and
Jasi Witherspoon beat Katie Benn and Carson Trapp, 8-0, at No. 3 doubles. Lubin also pulled out a 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 victory at No. 6 singles over Erika Fridrik. Witherspoon defeated Benn, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 5 singles.

Sonja Larsen and
Ana Pain beat Gipson Hawn and Amy Naula, 8-1, at No. 1 doubles.
Linda Fritschken and
Kimmy Twelker beat Emily Fridrik and Erika Fridrik, 8-2, at No. 2 pairs.
Larsen, ranked sixth in the country, dropped one game to Hawn, winning, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles. Ranked 27
th, Fritschken was equally dominant in a 6-0, 6-1 No. 2 singles win over Trapp. Pain was flawless in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Emily Fridrik at the No. 3 flight. Twelker improved to 6-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Naula at No. 4.
The Bucs host No. 6 Lynn at 3 p.m. Thursday in a big region and conference match at Buccaneer Tennis Center.
