MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.-- Barry baseball kept it close but loss out in the end as they fell to Georgia College 7-4, Friday night.
The Buccaneers got some offense going in the first half of the game that made it a one-run ballgame but were shut out in the final three innings in the losing effort.
JC Cardenas,
Greg Brodzinski, and
Ryan Baldwin tied for the team lead in hits on the night with two. Baldwin led the team with two RBI off a single in the fourth inning and a double in the fifth.
Pitching-wise, the Bucs combined for 11 strikeouts on the night, with reliever
Nate Greve getting the loss, putting his record on the year at 1-2.
GC starter Charlie Hecht got the win in 5.0 IP while reliever Brady Walsh got his first save of the season with five strikeouts in 4.0 IP.
The Bucs now stand at 14-14 on the year while the Bobcats improve to 15-13. The Bucs will look to get back in the series tomorrow as they take on Georgia College in a doubleheader that begins at 1 pm.
