WINTER PARK, FL—Saturday was a day of mixed feelings for Barry baseball as they split the doubleheader versus Rollins 7-4, 2-6.
The first game was one of poignant hitting as they scored four runs in the fourth inning off of RBI by
Ryan Baldwin,
Ross Thibeault, and
Mike Diaz to make the score 4-2. In the sixth inning, Thibeault hit a two-run homer to left field and in the seventh, the Bucs would add an additional run as they went on to win the game.
Right-hander
Luis Deville got the win for the Bucs as he struck out three in 4.1 IP.
In the second game however, the Bucs weren't as fortunate as they fell 2-6 after a Rollins' four run rally in the eighth inning.
The Bucs had tied the game up in the sixth, 2-2 off a
Greg Brodzinski RBI single and a fielder's choice that brought
Ramon Valdez home. But in the eighth, the Tars were able to were the recipients of several walks that brought several runs in and decided the game for them,
Matthew Hendricks got the win for Rollins.
The Bucs are now 12-10 and Rollins stands at 14-12.
Up next for the Bucs is a single game against Adelphi on Tuesday, March, 17
