Barry Baseball heads to Rollins for SSC Clash

The Bucs head into their first away series with eyes on moving up in the SSC.

MIAMI SHORES, FL—Buccaneers baseball heads north this weekend to take on SSC foe Rollins in a three-game series. This will be the first away series of the season for the Bucs as they head into the meat of their 2015 schedule.

The Tars currently sit at 12-11 on the season with a 0-3 record in conference play after being swept by Eckerd, so the Bucs will have their hands full as their opponent aims to move up in the SSC standings.

Rollins has several threats at bat that the Bucs will have to deal with. Sophomore catcher Chris Corbett leads the team in homeruns with three, while sophomore catcher Philip Burket leads in RBI with 20 and doubles with seven.

On the mound, the Tars will look to pitchers such as senior left-hander Seth Brenner, who has a team-leading 0.70 era in 25.2 IP, and junior right-hander Matthew Tulley, who leads his team with 34 strikeouts.

A few wins this weekend will put the Bucs in the thick of the SSC title race and they'll look to take advantage of that. First pitch is slated for 6 pm tonight with tomorrow's doubleheader beginning at 1 pm.
