Box Score 2 MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--After rainy conditions caused the cancellation of the first game, Barry baseball went on to sweep Felician College in a doubleheader Sunday to win the series.
The first game was a standout for Barry's pitchers. Starter
Luis Deville struck out six in seven innings pitch in his first win of the season and closer
Joeanthony Rivera got his first save allowing only one hit and striking out three batters.
Hitting-wise,
Khalil Denson,
Ross Thibeault, and
Mike Diaz all shared the team lead with two hits in the contest. The Bucs outhit the Golden Falcons 11-5 on route to a 5-4 victory.
Game two was even closer as the Bucs won a 2-1 victory in which a fielding error by a Felician outfielder brought
Jonathan Quintana home after
Ryan Baldwin hit the ball into the outfield.
Starting pitcher
Daniel Broeseker got his first win as a Buc with five strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched.
The win improves the Bucs' record to 8-6 and they will take the confidence of the victories as they go into Sunshine State Conference play as they take on defending conference champion Tampa in a three-game series beginning at 6 pm on March 6.
