GAME NOTES

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – For some, this is the last chance to shine at home. For others, this is another opportunity to push towards the inevitable that is building.

With postseason looming, there is one more home mountain to climb. And it falls on a night emotions run high before it all gets started.

Barry University's No. 9-ranked men's basketball team will host Lynn on Senior Night 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the final home game this season. Savad Garner, Juan Ferrales, Deric Hill and Jevoni Robinson will be honored.

The Bucs (21-3, 12-2 Sunshine State Conference) are two games ahead of the Fighting Knights (18-6, 10-4) in the league standings entering this final week of the regular season. Barry sits a game behind No. 1 Florida Southern in the chase for the SSC regular season title.

Wednesday's game will be streamed on the Buccaneers Broadcasting Network.

Hill became the third player in school history to record 400 assists, doing so on a team that set a school record for three-point field goals made. Ferrales ranks fourth all-time in three-point field goal percentage. Garner ranks sixth all-time in offensive rebounds per game. Robinson -- whose high-flying act and 18 dunks have earned him a spot in the Dark Horse Dunkers quarterfinals (Visit www.darkhorsedunker.com and vote for him) -- .is among the school's top 10 single-season shot blockers.

But more than the individual accomplishments of the seniors who've all carved a part of history for themselves, this game is about stopping the Fighting Knights, who gave the Bucs all they could handle in Boca Raton last month. This game is about playing sharper defense, and making good decisions. It is about making sure Lynn's Aaron Harrison (16.3 ppg, 6.1 reb.) doesn't go off. It is about containing Benjamin Berry (11.1 ppg) and his 3-point shooting capabilities. It is about not putting Fred Landers (9.3 ppg, .849 FT) on the free throw line. It is about not giving up too much in the paint to Pavle Raickovic  (8.2 ppg, 60.9 FG). And it is about not letting Russell Wilson (5.4 apg, 6.8 ppg), whom the Bucs did not see the first time around, dictate the tempo.

It is about playing Buccaneer basketball, and buckling down for the postseason. March is almost here, and everyone knows what that means.

Let the madness begin.
