MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University will play its second straight road game Saturday when the men's basketball team meets Saint Leo at 4 p.m. in the Bowman Center.
The Buccaneers (6-2, 1-1 Sunshine State Conference) swept the season series from the Lions (6-2, 2-2) last year, but the Bowman Center has been a difficult place to play for Barry over the years. The Bucs are 10-18 at Saint Leo. Barry is 31-32 all-time against the Lions.
Saint Leo, under the direction of new coach Vince Alexander, is averaging 86 points per game. The Lions beat then No. 12 Alabama-Huntsville, 93-90, in overtime at the beginning of the season. The Lions are shooting 77.4 percent from the free throw line, which is second in the SSC.Â
This game will feature two of the league's top six scorers in Saint Leo's Marcus Dewberry (18.8) and Barry's
Yunio Barrueta (23.4).Â
The Lions have given up 90 points three times this year and 89 points in one other game. Barry has scored over 95 points in five games this year.Â
