MIAMI SHORES, FL— Barry baseball won its first contest of the year Friday night with a 4-0 exhibition victory over Broward College. The Buccaneers scored runs with the help of nine hits of their own and from two errors by the Seahawks.
Starting pitcher
Daniel Broeseker recorded eight strikeouts, no hits allowed and no runners on base in three innings of work for his first ever start for the Bucs.
Reliever
Andy Rohloff also had a noteworthy night in his Barry pitching debut with four strikeouts in three innings pitched.
Also debuting on the mound at Feinbloom Field were freshmen
Jonathan Hernandez and
Jonathan Quintana.
Second baseman
Khalil Denson and right-fielder
Ryan Baldwin both recorded two hits tonight. Freshman outfielder
Ross Thibeault scored two runs in an all-around offensive effort by the Bucs.
Several players reached a milestone tonight as they had their first hits for the program tonight:
