MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – After being rained out during their last match, the eighteenth-ranked Barry University women’s tennis team (8-6) returned to the court on Saturday morning with a commanding 5-0 victory over region opponent Flagler Saints (3-9).
All three doubles matches went the Buccaneers’ way, as ninth-ranked Ildiko Csordas and Berit Peterson did not give up a point in their 8-0 defeat of Chelsi de Cuba and Maria Ospina at the number one spot.
Singles play required only the top two matches to be finished, as seventh-ranked Csordas handed Chelsea Maratta a 6-1, 6-0 loss while teammate Helen Wisniewski took care of Leigh Ann Moss 6-2, 6-0 for the Bucs fifth and final point.
Barry will return to the courts on Monday, Apr. 16 as they take on the West Palm Beach Sailfish in West Palm Beach, Fla. at 4:30 pm.
