FORT MEYERS, Fla. – The sixth ranked Barry University women’s tennis team lost their first match of the season 7-2 against #15 Florida Gulf Coast Eagles on Sunday afternoon at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
Playing at the number one singles spot, Ildiko Csordas beat Maria Braniecka 6-3, 6-2 to remain undefeated on the year. Teammate Saskia Kruse also won her match, taking a 7-5, 6-4 victory from Penny Sattari.
The Buccaneers begin their Sunshine State Conference (SSC) schedule on Wednesday, Feb. 28 as they take on cross-town rival Lynn at the Buccaneer Tennis Center at 3:00 pm.
