Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Amanda Moore tied Barry's career-record with 19 home runs and pitcher Elizabeth Bennett set a new single season with 26 wins as a freshman as the Barry University softball team closed out the regular season with two wins over the Eckerd College Tritons 6-1 and 12-1 in five innings.

In the game one, the Buccaneers (31-18, 10-11 SSC) pounded out four hits and scored three times in the first inning for an early 3-0 lead. Barry's Kim Fujimoto, Delilah Stroup and Erin Sutton each posted first-inning RBI's to get the Bucs started. In the very next innings, Fujimoto scored for the second time on a Triton wild pitch to give the Bucs a 4-0 advantage.

With the bases loaded in the fifth, Barry's Heather Cook drove in two more runs for the Bucs with an RBI double to right center. Finally in the seventh, Eckerd's Amy Kilbert drove in the Tritons (14-36-1, 1-20 SSC) only run with an RBI single to center, but Barry held on for the win 6-1.

Elizabeth Bennett (25-14) picked up the win for Barry striking out nine in seven innings while allowing just one run. Kristina Lemon (13-18) suffered the loss for the Tritons giving up six runs on 10 hits, while striking out six.

The Bucs final game of the regular season began in much the same fashion as the first. Ignited by a leadoff single by Ashley Loose, the Buccaneers took advantage of two Triton errors and got RBI's from Keeney, Stroup and Amanda Moore to take an early 4-0 first-inning lead.

In the second inning, Heather Hodges scored on a Triton shortstop error and Keeney drove in two more runs as the Bucs extended their lead to 7-0. The Tritons finally broke the shutout in the third inning scoring one run with the bases loaded on Lemon's fielder's choice RBI. However, the Bucs added two more runs in the fourth and Amanda Moore belted a three-run home run in the fifth to lead the Bucs past the Tritons in the final game 12-1. Moore's home run was the 11th of the season and 19th of her career, which ties Barry's career record. She joins the ranks of Crissy Nunez and Sharon Jaffee who each tallied 19 homer apiece during their Barry tenure.

Bennett (26-14) picked up the win allowing just one unearned run and struck out six in her final outing of her freshman season for Barry. In the same day, she tied and broke the single-season record with 26 wins for a freshman pitcher. She surpassed former Buccaneer ace Lindsay Anderson who had previously set the record at 25 wins during her freshman campaign in 1998. Kayla Walker (0-11) suffered the loss for Eckerd giving up four runs on two hits without getting an out to start the game.

For the day, Keeney went six-for-eight at the plate with a double and three RBI to lead the Buccaneers at the plate. Moore followed with five hits in eight at bats, a home run and four RBI. Kilbert went two-for-five with an RBI to lead the Tritons.

Barry closes out the regular season with a 31-18 overall record and a 10-11 mark in the Sunshine State Conference. The Buccaneers now wait to see if they will receive a third NCAA South Region Tournament bid on Monday.
