Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. -- After a 1:26 rain delay, the Barry University baseball team (25-15, 7-9 SSC) dropped the front end of a three-game Sunshine State Conference series 5-3 to the Lynn Fighting Knights (18-22, 4-9 SSC) earlier today at the McCusker Sports Complex.

Ricky Sanchez ignited a two-run first inning with an RBI single that scored
Alex Meneses, while
Cesar Aranguren added another RBI single in the Bucs' early lead. Lynn's Beau McMillian led off the bottom half of the inning with a single and later scored on a Mike Scott RBI single to narrow the gap to one after the first.
Lynn's John Zagria later led off the third with a single and scored on Francisco Dinzey's sacrifice fly to right field to tie the game at two apiece. The tie lasted only an inning, when
Brian Lima drove in the go ahead run after reaching on fielding error by the Lynn shortstop.
With the Buccaneers leading 3-2 after the long rain delay, Lynn's Dinzey and George Brandner followed with each other with consecutive RBI doubles to give the Knights a 5-3 lead after seven. That was all the Knights needed as Raymond Leyva hurled the final two innings holding the Bucs to one hit to earn the save.
Greg Dicso (2-2) pitched 3.1 innings in relief and gave up three runs, while striking out two in the loss. Eric Crawford (2-2) picked up the win for Lynn in one relief inning of work, while giving up one Barry hit. Leyva earned his first save of the season in two innings of work and striking out two.
Sanchez and Lima posted two hits and an RBI each to lead the Bucs at the plate. McMillian, Scott and Zagaria also landed two hits apiece to lead the Knights.
The three-game series will resume on Saturday, Apr. 10 at 12:00 noon.
