Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers opened the final weekend of the season with an 11-2 thrashing of Eckerd in Sunshine State Conference baseball action at Fienbloom Field on Friday night.
The game was delayed 1:08 by rain before the first pitch. But when the game started, the Buccaneers broke out the sticks, scoring in each of the first six innings.
For Barry (32-21, 9-10 SSC),
Brian Lima went 4-for-4, scroed two runs and drove in another.
Jesse Naber and
Carlos de la Osa each hit two-run homers, while
Alex Meneses scored three runs and
Ricky Sanchez added two run-scoring singles.
Greg Dicso (3-2) earned the win for the Bucs, tossing five innings and allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks, while striking out six.
Jon Adams worked the final four innings to pick up his third save.
Eric Canestrari (2-6) took the loss for the Tritons (19-29, 5-12 SSC). He went four innings, allowing nine hits, one walk and struck out one as Barry scored seven runs.
The series concluded tomorrow with a doubleheader at noon.
