Box Score 2 MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers split a baseball doubleheader with Florida Gulf Coast at Feinbloom Field on Saturday, winning game one 7-3, but dropping the second game 3-1.
The Bucs (30-20) used the long ball to win game one, getting a two-run homer from
Carlos de la Osa and a three-run blast from
Cesar Aranguren.
Jon Adams (1-3) picked up the win in relief of starter
Greg Dicso. He worked 4.1 innings, allowing one run on four hits and a walk while striking out three.
Jason Kiley (6-3) took the loss for the Eagles. He worked 6.1 innings, allowing seven runs (two earned) on nine hits, with three strike outs.
In game two, the Eagles (38-17) scored twice in the first inning off Barry starter
Alex Gonzalez (5-7) and that was all Chris Cahill (3-0) needed. Chris Brown and Mike Howard each had RBI singles.
Gonzalez tossed 6.2 innings, allowing all three runs (two earned) on 10 hits and three walks. He struck out four. Cahill went 6.1 innings allowing onely five hits, one run and one walk, while striking out four. Ryan Williams, in a reversal of roles, got the last two outs for his first save.
The teams conclude the three-game series tomorrow at 1:00 pm
