Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers clobbered the Florida Tech Panthers 11-6 at Feinbloom Field in non-conference baseball action Wednesday night.
The Bucs (29-19) pounded out 12 hits, including home runs by
Carlos de la Osa and
Jesse Naber, in the win.
The Panthers (24-26) grabbed an early lead on a two-run homer by Bubba DiFabio in the first inning.
But Barry got one run back the bottom of the first when
Brian Lima scored on a wild pitch and took the lead in the third inning with three runs.
Jesse Naber and
Alex Meneses led off the third with singles and Lima knocked in Naber with a sacrifice fly. Meneses came around on a single by
Fausto Faraldo.
Keith Barton scored later on a fly ball by de la Osa.
The Bucs added four more in the sixth and three in the seventh as de la Osa and Naber homered.
Mike Davila (5-0) earned the win with seven strong innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks, while striking out four.
Jon Adams got the last four outs to earn his second save.
Jeff Koehler (5-5) started and took the loss for the Panthers. He allowed eight runs (six earned) on nine hits in 5.1 innings, striking out nine.
The Bucs host Florida Gulf Coast in a three-game series this weekend. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1:00 pm and the finale is Sunday at 1:00 pm.
