Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga. – The #12-ranked Barry University women's tennis team fell in dramatic fashion to #8 ranked Clayton College 5-4 earlier this afternoon.

The Bucs (12-6, 5-3 SSC) jumped out in front early on taking two of three doubles matches including an impressive 8-0 win at the top flight by Natascha Loebnitz and Greta Trotman over Clayton's (9-5, 7-3 PBC) Kim Lennartsson and Daniela Petkova.

Then in singles action the Bucs seemed to be fading as they quickly dropped the first three spots, however, Arabella Martin and Carole Steinhauser put the Bucs right back in it with wins in the # 4 and # 5 positions. Martin knocked off Clayton's Petkova 6-1, 6-3 and Steinhauser made quick work of Kim Lennartsson 6-0, 6-0. At that point the match was tied a 4-4 and the decisive point came down to # 6 singles where Clayton's Michell Zulu got the best of Barry's Marie Rojas winning a tie-break in the final set to win the match 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 and earn the final point for her team.

The Bucs return to action tomorrow when they face off against North Florida at 11:00 am.
