Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SAINT LEO, Fla.—The #13-ranked Barry Buccaneers split a Sunshine State Conference baseball doubleheader with the Saint Leo Lions, dropping the first game 5-4, but bouncing back for an 8-6 win in the night cap.

In game one, Barry's Jayson Brown held the Lions to three runs (two earned) over eight innings and left with a 4-3 lead. Fausto Faraldo got Barry (15-5, 4-2 SSC) even with a two-run single in the sixth to knot the game and Cesar Aranguren drove in the go-ahead run with a ground ball in the seventh.

But the Lions rallied off reliever Jesse Naber (1-1), scoring once in the ninth to tie and getting the game-winner on a RBI single by Mike Stepp to score Derrick McNeil.

Brandon Webb (3-1) picked up the win in relief, working out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the 10th inning with three strikeouts to close the game.

In game two, the Lions seemed poised for the sweep, but Barry rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh. Naber and Alex Meneses led off the inning with singles and Brian Lima put the Bucs on top with a three-run blast over the left field wall. Barry added an insurance run on a double by Aranguren and a sacrifice fly by Keith Barton.

Michael Davila (1-0) picked up the win in relief, pitching three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk, with two strikeouts.

The Bucs finally victimized Webb, torching the Lion closer for four earned runs on four hits in two-thirds of an inning after he had a win and a save in the first two games of the series.

Barry will host Bloomfield on Wednesday, Mar. 10 at 6:00 pm at Feinbloom Field, before the Florida Southern Mocs come to town next weekend for a crucial SSC series.
