Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers and Nova Southeastern Knights split a baseball doubleheader at Feinbloom Field Saturday afternoon to conclude a three-game series, with Barry taking the first game 3-0 and Nova rallying for a 6-3 win in the nightcap.

In game one, Jayson Brown (4-1) tossed a six-hit shutout, striking out nine. Keith Barton drove in the game's first run with a ground out in the fourth and two runs came in on a dropped fly ball in the sixth.

In game two, the Knights scored single runs in the second and third innings to take an early lead. Derek Lopez drove in Steve Smith with a sacrifice fly in the second and Smith plated Alex Froloff with a single in the third.

The Bucs answered back with three runs in the fourth. Keith Barton doubled and came around two batters later on a single by Carlos de la Osa. After Nick Corbiel walked to load the bases, Chris Casale delivered the big blow with a two-run single.

But the Bucs could not hold the lead. After pitching two strong innings, Jon Adams (0-1) gave up two hits to start the seventh inning and was relieved by Jesse Naber. Froloff dropped down a bunt to advance the runners, but Naber's throw pull second baseman Cesar Aranguren off the bag to load them up. Sean McFadden coaxed a walk to tie the game. Kyle Bone hit into a fielder's choice to erase Chris Reynolds at the plate, but Corbeil's following throw sailed wide of the bag at first and Froloff rounded the bases to give the Knights the lead. They tacked on two more runs and Kyle Ruwe shut the door in the bottom of the inning to earn his third save.

Adams took the loss, allowing two unearned runs on three hits in two innings. Ross Cummings (3-1) earned the win with 2.1 innings of one-hit ball, with three strikeouts.

Barry will face Florida Memorial on Tuesday, Mar. 23 at 6:00 pm at Feinbloom Field.
