Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers defeated the Molloy Lions 9-1 in baseball action at Feinbloom Field on Wednesday night.
After spotting the Lions (2-10) a run in the first inning, the Bucs (18-8) surged back for three runs in the second inning, thanks to some wildness by Lions starter Brad Lyons (0-2). He walked two and hit two more to help the Bucs score three times without a hit.
In the fifth, more wildness ended the night for Lyons. After walking
Cesar Aranguren and
Keith Barton to start the inning, Lyons was lifted. Reliever Ryan Mulholland uncorked a wild pitch to score Aranguren and
Fausto Faraldo blasted a two-run homer, his third of the season to increase the lead to 6-1. Aranguren put an exclamation point on the night with a two-run single in the sixth.
Jerry Thornton led the Bucs with three hits, while
Brian Lima and Aranguren each added two. Joe Holden picked up two of the Lions four hits.
