Box Score 2 MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Florida Southern Moccasins swept a Sunshine State Conference baseball doubleheader from the Barry Buccaneers, winning 6-2 and 7-4 at Feinbloom Field on Saturday.
In game one, Jeff Howell doubled and tripled, driving in two runs to lead the Mocs (15-10-1, 5-1 SSC). Jesse Moody (3-0) earned the win with eight innings, allowing only one run on five hits and three walks, with six strikeouts.
Jayson Brown (3-1) suffered his first loss, pitching six innings and giving up six runs (four earned) on six hits and five walks, while striking out four.
In game two, Ryan Thompson (1-4) picked up his first win of the season, going 6.1 innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Howell was again the hero, going three-for-three and knocking in a run.
Chris Casale (1-3) took the loss for Barry (16-8, 4-5 SSC), giving up six runs (one earned) on 12 hits and a walk with three strike outs in 4.1 innings.
The Bucs will host Mars Hill on Tuesday, Mar. 16 at 6:00 pm.
