Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers fell 64-48 to the Florida Southern Moccasins in Sunshine State Conference men's basketball action in the Health & Sports Center Saturday afternoon.

The Mocs (15-5, 8-1 SSC) sprinted out to a 16-6 lead after the first seven minutes and Barry never got closer than five points the rest of the way.

The Bucs (12-10, 5-4 SSC) came out shooting in the second half and cut the lead to five points, 37-32 on an Andy Evans free throw with 16:24 left. But Florida Southern quickly struck back, taking their biggest lead at 49-32 with 10:43 left to play in the second half on a three-pointer by Ellery Boykin.

The Bucs again cut the lead to eight at 49-41 with 6:09 remaining on a Nick Ellingsworth-Perez jumper, the Mocs found the answer and closed the game on a 15-7 run to make the final margin 64-48.

Kenny Ebanyat paced the Mocs with 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Chris Brooks chipped in 16 points. Clifford Smith led Barry with 17 points and Ryan Saunders added 10 points and seven assists.

The Bucs return to action at Nova Southeastern on Wednesday night, February 11 at 7:30 pm.
