Box Score WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Eric Faber scored 28 points as the Rollins men's basketball team (23-4, 12-2 SSC) withstood a second half rally to defeat Barry University (14-13, 7-7 SSC) 70-63 in the final game of the regular season for both teams. Clifford Smith had 24 points for Barry and Nick Perez added 19 points and 16 rebounds.

Rollins came out on fire in the first half as they converted 63 percent of their field goal attempts (17-27) to secure a 41-23 halftime edge. Faber had 17 points in the half to lead the way. Barry hit only 34.5 percent from the field.

The Buccaneers began to trim the Rollins lead almost immediately in the second half. The Tars led 43-23 following a layup by Placide Muhizi less than a minute into the half. An 11-1 run over the next four minutes trimmed the lead to 10 points, but Rollins answered with a run of their own to keep the lead in double digits. Rollins led 51-36 with 13:13 remaining before Barry scored the next eight points to cut the lead to seven. However, a three-point basket by Faber and basket by Lex Brown got the margin back in double digits at 57-46 with 6:08 left.

Barry scored the next seven points to trim the lead to four. A basket by Smith with 57 seconds remaining cut the lead to three points at 63-60. However, senior Chad Dircks, who entered the game among the nations leaders in three-point percentage, but had not converted on his first four long distance attempts of the day, made the shot that mattered the most as he hit a three-point attempt with 38 seconds left to give the Tars a 66-60 lead. Faber converted four straight field goals to seal the win.

Barry's seeding and opponent for the first round of the SSC Tournament will be determined on Monday, Mar. 1.
