Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers closed out homecoming weekend with a 7-2 women's tennis win over Tampa at the Buccaneer Tennis Center on Sunday.

With only five players, the Bucs again defaulted the number three doubles and number six singles points, but roared back to take all of the played matches.

Natascha Loebnitz and Maria Lopez made it seven straight wins by shutting out Tampa's Liz Maulthrop and Abby Shelide 8-0. Arabella Martin and Carole Steinhauser evened the match with an 8-2 win over Paula Fillion and Heather Eli.

In singles, Loebnitz made short work of Maulthrop 6-0, 6-0 and Steinhauser equaled that score over Necat Akman.

Maria Lopez put the clincher on the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Fillion, while Greta Trotman rallied from an early deficit to defeat Shelide 6-3, 6-1. Martin closed out the match 6-2, 6-1 over Eli.

Barry (7-0, 3-0 SSC) travels to Orlando for their annual collision with Rollins on Saturday, Feb. 28, then faces Saint Leo, Valdosta State and Grand Valley State the next two days. Tampa drops to 1-4, 0-3 in the conference.
