Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers dropped the Embry-Riddle Eagles 6-2 in women's tennis action on Tuesday.
The Bucs (4-0), still playing short-handed with Conny Grunes out, forfeited the number three doubles and number six singles to the Eagles (1-2).
Natascha Loebnitz and Maria Lopez remained undefeated at the top doubles flight, beating Liza Francis and Natalia Kozyura 8-2.
Greta Trotman and Arabella Martin made it 2-0 Barry by beating ERAU's Liezl Samios-Uy and Jessica Anaya 8-1.
The Bucs took the four singles matches that finished prior to the rain which ended the match. Loebnitz shutout Francis 6-0, 6-0 at the top flight, while Martin sealed the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Anaya at number five.
Trotman topped Kozyura 6-3, 6-3 at the second flight and Carole Steinhauser defeated Alexandra Buttazzoni 6-4, 7-5 at the fifth slot.
Lopez and Samios-Uy split their first two sets 6-4, 3-6. Lopez led 7-6 in the super tie-breaker when the rains came.
Barry faces Northwood (FL) on Thursday at 3:00 pm, then hosts Eckerd on Saturday and Tampa on Sunday in Sunshine State Conference action.
