Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers toppled the Nova Southeastern Knights 66-46 in Sunshine State Conference men's basketball action Thursday night in the Health & Sports Center.

A 7-4 run gave the Bucs the early lead, but the Knights bounced back with a 7-4 run of their own to knot the game at 11-11 on a three-point play by Kluis Wimbush at 11:04 of the first half.

But Barry (7-6) ripped off the next 15 points, six by Nick Ellingsworth-Perez, to go up 26-11 at the 6:24 mark on a jumper by Luka Jaukovic. The Bucs carried a 34-19 advantage into the half.

In the second half, the Knights (6-7) never got closer than 13 points and the Buc led by as many as 26 on a layup by Perez at the 3:53 mark.

The Bucs' trademarked defense held the Knights to 28.8 percent field goal shooting and 46 points. The Knights came into the contest shooting 42.3 percent from the floor and averaging 71.1 points per game.

Perez led all scorers with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Clifford Smith added 14 points and Andres Alfonso had 10. Wimbush led Nova with 13 points, the only Knight in double figures.

The men travel to Florida Southern on Saturday, Jan. 10 to face the Mocs at 5:30 pm.
