Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers fell 46-45 to the Lynn Fighting Knights in Sunshine State Conference men's basketball action Tuesday in the Health & Sports Center.

The Bucs (6-6, 0-2 SSC) held the Knights to 32.7 percent shooting, but could not overcome a 29.2 percent shooting night of their own.

The Bucs trailed 45-34 with 5:12 left in the game, but mounted a fierce comeback to trim the lead to 46-45 with 16.3 seconds left on a pair of free throws by Clifford Smith. With 11.8 seconds remaining, Lynn's Cedric Bennett went to the line with a chance to ice the game, but missed the front end of a one-and-one. Nick Ellingsworth-Perez grabbed the rebound, but the Bucs failed to get off a shot at the buzzer.

Akil Lewis led the Knights (8-5, 1-1 SSC) with 16 points, while James Taylor added 14 and Justin Wingard had 11. Andres Alfonso was the only Buccaneer in double figures with 11. Ellingsworth-Perez had nine points, 12 rebounds, five steals and two blocks.

The Bucs are back in action at the HSC on Thursday, Jan. 8, hosting the Knights of Nova Southeastern.
