Box Score MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Barry University men's basketball team toppled the Florida Tech Panthers 68-48 earlier tonight at the Clemente Center.
The Bucs came out red hot jumping out to an early 21-7 lead at the 11:10 mark and did not let up extending their lead to 44-20 heading into the half up after knocking down six first half three-pointers and shooting 56% from the floor.
In the second half, it was the Panthers who came out hot putting together an 8-2 run, but the Bucs quickly stole back the momentum going on 15-7 run giving themselves their biggest lead of the night at 61-35. The Bucs eventually held on for the 68-48 victory.
Clifford Smith was the Bucs leading scorer with 17 points, while Nick-Ellingsworth Perez added 15. Luka Jaukovich also added a season-high 12 points for the Bucs.
Florida Tech was led by Titas Vainauskas who had 15 points.
Barry returns to action on Saturday when they visit Eckerd College.
