Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry Buccaneers dropped their home finale to the Nova Knights 11-9 at Feinbloom Field Tuesday night.
The Bucs scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning off Knights' ace Kyle Ruwe (12-2) to take a 9-8 lead.
Billy Zoffinger hit a lead off homer and
Ricky Sanchez plated a pair of runs with a single.
But in the ninth inning, Nova rallied for three runs off
Matt Downey (0-2). With one on and two outs, Richie Gasbarro blooped a single down the right field line and Sean McFadden drove in the tying run with a single to center. Gasbarro came home on an errant pitch on an intentional walk to Adam Harlow and McFadden came in on a balk.
Ruwe picked up the win, despite tossing his worst outing of the year. He allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits in 3.2 innings, striking out two. Downey took the loss for the Bucs allowing three earned runs on two hits in .2 innings.
Barry drops to 17-33-1, while Nova improves to 29-15.
