Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry Buccaneers came back to sweep the Saturday doubleheader 6-5 and 13-6 and win their Sunshine State Conference baseball series from the two games to one over the Saint Leo Lions.

In the opener, Adam Mindick singled home Keith Barton with one out in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Bucs to victory.

The Buccaneers scored three runs on five hits in the seventh inning to go up 5-4. Cesar Aranguren, Carlos de la Osa and Barton each drove in a run. But the Lions tied it in the eighth to set up Mindick's heroics in the ninth.

Alex Gonzalez (4-3) earned the win with 1.1 scoreless innings in relief of starter David Schmidt. Cody Clay (1-6) took the loss for Saint Leo after loading the bases with one out in the ninth.

In the rubber game, Billy Zoffinger double home Aranguren to snap a 4-4 deadlock in the fifth inning. The Bucs went one to score eight runs in the sixth on only four hits, thanks to four walks, a hit batter and two errors by shortstop Adriel Fiallo. Nick Corbiel put the finishing touches on the frame with a grand slam off SLU's Marc Sbraccia.

The Lions' Cameron O'Connell took the loss, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks, without recording a strikeout. Jon Sandola went the distance for the win, giving up six earned runs on 10 hits. He walked one and struck out three.

Mindick was the offensive star of the day, with six hits in eight at-bats, scoring two and driving in two. Barton had three hits and scored three runs. Fiallo led the Lions with four hits and four RBI in the doubleheader.

Barry improves to 16-29-1, 3-12 in the SSC, while Saint Leo falls to 16-29, 5-12 in the conference. The Buc travel to Lynn on Tuesday, April 22 for a non-conference game at 3:00 pm.
