Box Score 2 WINTER PARK, Fla.--The Barry baseball team dropped a Sunshine State Conference doubleheader to the Rollins Tars 8-5 and 6-5 Saturday afternoon at Alfond Stadium.
The Tars jumped out in game one to a 6-0 lead and held on as the Bucs scored five runs over the last four innings.
Cesar Aranguren led the Bucs at the plate, going two-for-three with three RBI.
Ricky Sanchez and
Fausto Faraldo each had two hits as well.
David Schmidt (1-4) took the loss for the Bucs, allowing six earned runs on nine hits in 4.2 innings. Eduardo Chile (3-0) earned the win with six innings work, giving up five hits and one run.
In game two, Barry (14-26-1, 1-11 SSC) built a 5-2 lead after four innings, but the Tars (24-17,7-4 SSC) rallied for four runs over the last two innings.
Faraldo again led the way at the plate with two hits and an RBI. Chris Munoz doubled in the tying run in the seventh inings, then scored the winner on a throwing error.
Alex Gonzalez (3-3) took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits in 1.1 innings.
Nick Mason (4-1) picked the win with one perfect inning.
The Bucs play host to the St. Thomas Bobcats on Tuesday at 6:00 pm.
