Box Score 2 MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Lynn Knights swept a Sunshine State Conference baseball doubleheader from the Barry Buccaneers 22-15 and 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Feinbloom Field.
In the first game, Lynn jumped on top 5-0 after the first two innings. But Barry roared back to a 12-5 lead after four.
However, the Knights scored 17 runs off three Barry pitchers from the fifth through the eighth innings to walk away with the 22-15 win.
Jesse Beasley (3-1) benefitted from the offensive explosion to get the win without pitching particularly effectively. He allowed 11 hits and three walks in 6.0 innings, giving up eight earned runs.
Alex Gonzalez (3-2) took the loss for the Bucs, going four innings and allowing eight runs on six hits and six walks with three strikeouts.
Greg Brown led the Knights with five hits and scored four runs. Beau McMillan had two hits and drove in four.
Ricky Sanchez led the Bucs with three hits and four RBI. Cesar Arnaguren and
Joey Perez each had three hits as well.
The second game was a completely opposite affair as Barry's Jon Sandola (2-3) and Lynn's Adam Lopez (5-0) locked up in a pitcher's duel.
Fransisco Dinzey broke up the scoreless duel in the seventh with a two-run double for the only scoring.
Lopez tossed the complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits and three walks, while striking out two. Sandola allowed seven hits and four walks with one strikeout.
Barry drops to 12-18, 0-3 in the SSC. Lynn, ranked #15 in the ABCA poll, improves to 24-6, 3-0 in the conference.
