Box Score LAKELAND, Fla.--The Barry Buccaneers carried their stifling defense into their semifinal matchup with the Rollins Tars, but lost their hot shooting touch and fell 48-37 in the Sunshine State Conference Basketball Tournament in Jenkins Fieldhouse Sunday night.
The defense held solid, limiting the Tars (24-4) to 33.3 percent shooting and just 48 points, 22 below their season average. But the Bucs (18-10), who shot 50 percent from the floor in the opening round against Lynn, hit just 24.5 percent from the floor in the semifinal.
Yorell Calerdon led the Bucs with 13 points, while Chad Dircks paced the Tars with 10. The Tars advance to play Florida Southern in the championship game at 8:00 pm tomorrow night.
