Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Barry University women's tennis team speared the Eckerd College Tritons 8-1 earlier today in Sunshine State Conference action.

The Buccaneers swept all three doubles to start the match, then won five of the six singles matches for the win. Cornelia Grunes led the Bucs as she stepped in at the #1 singles for the absent Victoria Courmes and defeated Eckerd's Rachel Sanchez 6-0, 6-0. Eckerd's only point came from a default at the #6 singles.

The Buccaneers improved to 14-1 overall and 6-1 in the SSC. They will resume action on Mar. 18 hosting UMass at the Buccaneer Tennis Complex at 2 pm.
