Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University women's tennis team sailed past the Rollins College Tars 7-2 in Sunshine State Conference action earlier this afternoon at the Buccaneer Tennis Complex.

Tars' Vanessa Caddick and Carla Prieto teamed up to take the #1 doubles 8-3 over Barry's Victoria Courmes and Cornelia Grunes. However Gizella Turbok/Valeria Papandrea and Carole Steinhauser/Greta Trotman swept the lower doubles matches 8-2 and 8-4 respectively.

Led by Courmes who defeated Caddick at number one 6-0, 6-2, the Buccaneers rolled the top five singles. However, Steinhauser fell at the number six 6-4, 6-4 to Rollins' Jill Oppenhiem for the Bucs' only singles loss.

The Buccaneer improved to 8-1 overall and 2-1 in the SSC to recover from their conference loss to Lynn earlier in the week. They will return to the clay on Monday, Mar. 3 at 9 am hosting Lees McRae.
