Box Score MIAMI SHORES -- The Barry University baseball team slipped past Rollins College 13-10 Sunday afternoon at Feinbloom Field.
The Bucs offense jumped out to an early 11-0 lead through five innings as Bucs starter
Robert Penna kept Rollins off the board until early on in the seventh inning, allowing just six hits and one earned run in seven complete.
However, Rollins rallied in the top of the eighth off the bullpen, sending twelve players to the plate and scoring eight runs to cut Barry's lead to 11-9. Barry responded with two more runs in the bottom of the eighth and held on for the 13-10 victory.
Keith Barton paced the Bucs going 3 for 4, with a double and four RBI. Also contributing for the Bucs were
Billy Zoffinger who added three hits and three runs scored while
Ricky Sanchez added two base knocks and four RBI.
Rollins was led by second-baseman Tito Alfonso who had two hits and three RBI.
The Bucs return to action Friday, Feb. 14 as they visit Lynn University at 2:30 pm.
