Box Score 2 MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry baseball team dropped a split double header to the Lynn Knights and Rollins Tars Friday at Feinbloom Field. The Bucs lost the opener to the Knights 17-14 and fell 14-10 to the Tars in a game shortened to seven innings due to lights.
Starter Glen Zavitz (0-2) took the loss for Barry in the opener, allowing seven earned runs on six hits and two walks, striking out one in two innings. Travis Osborn (2-0) earned the win with seven innings, allowing eight earned runs on 10 hits and five walks, while striking out nine.
George Branch was the hitting star for the Knights, going five-for-six with two homers, two doubles and seven RBI. He also scored five runs.
Chris Casale led the Bucs with three hits, including a double and a triple, and four RBI.
In the night cap, the Bucs fell be hind early, but battled back to tie the game at 10-10 after six innings. But the Tars responded with four runs in the seventh and held on for the win.
Joe Sapp (1-0), the sixth of seven Tars pitchers, got the win with one scoreless inning of relief.
Greg Dicso (0-1) took the loss, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk in 2.2 innings.
Toby Rice led the Tars with two hits and three RBI. Mike Fuentes had three hits, including two doubles with three RBI for the Bucs.
Barry (1-4) travels to Lynn (3-2) on Saturday and hosts Rollins (5-0) on Sunday to complete the weekend series.
