Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Behind Luis Vazquez-Bello's career-high 32 points, the Barry University men's basketball team flattened the Florida Tech Panthers 63-57 in SSC action earlier this afternoon at the Health & Sports Center.

In the first half, the Buccaneers (16-9, 6-7 SSC) drummed up an early lead, but the Panthers (9-17, 1-12 SSC) stayed within reach finally taking over the lead 17-16 at the 8:23 mark. They extended their lead to seven leading 29-22 at the intermission.

After a brief locker room pep talk, the Bucs came out in the second half and made a dent in the deficit. Finally with 7:19 remaining and leading 43-39, the Bucs went on a 12-3 run to lead by 13 with two minutes to play. The Panthers battled to within six, but the Bucs held on for the 63-57 win.

Leading the Buccaneer winning efforts, Vazquez-Bello poured in a career-high 32 points in his final game at the Health & Sports Center, 19 of which came in the second half. Nick Ellingsworth-Perez followed with a double-double 11 points and 11 boards.

Ryan Maultsby followed with 13 points, a team-high for the Panthers. Greg Barnes chipped in 12, while Titas Vainauskas and Michael Pyle followed with 11 and 10 repectively.

The Buccaneers close out the regular season with Lynn on the road Saturday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 pm.
