Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University men's and women's tennis teams swept the Saint Leo Lions 8-1 and 7-2 respectively earlier today at the Buccaneer Tennis Complex.

Without the Bucs' #1 Samir M'Bioka and #2 Gerold Wiring, the Buccaneer men's tennis team still dominated the clay defeating the Lions 8-1 in Sunshine State Conference action. Sebastian Losavio fell to Saint Leo's Jose Pastrello at the #1 singles 6-1, 5-7, 11-9 for the Lions one point in the match.

However, Filip Norrman filled in at the #2 defeating Saint Leo's Mike DiGiacomo 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Adrea Verela made his season debut in a three set battle at the #4 singles defeating Saint Leo's Adrian Nakayama 6-0, 4-6, 11-9, while Colin Riley dominated at #5 whipping BJ Grant 6-0, 6-0.

The men remain undefeated at 3-0, while also starting SSC play 1-0. The Bucs return to the clay on Feb. 22 to face Valdosta State on the road at 2 pm.

In women's tennis action, the Buccaneers dominated the courts defeating Saint Leo 7-2 improving to 4-0 and 1-0 in the SSC. Saint Leo's only points came by default at the #3 doubles and #6 singles.

Victoria Courmes and Cornelia Grunes team up at the #1 doubles for an 8-2 victory over Saint Leo's Caryn Hague and Emily Lane, while Gizella Turbok and Valeria Papandrea blanked Krysia Scherlinger and Jen Eigner 8-0.

In singles competition, Courmes defeated Hague at #1 6-0, 6-1 continuing her 2003 unbeaten streak, while freshman Greta Trotman continued her impressive rookie campaign blanking Saint Leo's Jen Eigner 6-0, 6-0.

The women's team will also resume action on Feb. 22 at Valdosta at 2 pm
