Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla.--The Lynn Knights scored nine runs in the first inning and coasted to a 12-6 win over the Barry Buccaneers in baseball action at McCusker Sports Complex Friday afternoon.
The Knights (7-2) sent 15 men to the plate in the first frame. Juan Colon provided the big blast, hitting a three-run homer, his fourth of the season.
The Bucs scratched out 10 hits and scored six runs.
Joey Perez,
Carlos de la Osa,
Chris Casale and
Matt Reynolds each rapped out two hits. In the ninth, de la Osa hit his second homer of the season for Barry (2-6)
Jon Adams (0-1 took the loss for Barry allowing nine runs and 10 hits in 2/3 of an inning. Adam Lopez (2-0) earned the win for Lynn with six innings. He allowed 10 hits and five runs (three earned), while striking out five. Nick Brown worked the final three innings to pick up his first save.
Barry returns to Feinbloom Field on Saturday at 6:00 pm, hosting the Mercy College Eagles.
