Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Nick Ellingsworth-Perez scored 17 as the Barry University men's basketball team slammed the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez Tarzans 76-62 earlier tonight at the Health & Sports Center.

The Buccaneers (3-0) opened the game with a 16-0 run at the 13:08 mark in the first half. The Bucs led by as many as 18, but the Tarzans (0-10) fought back to narrow the game to 10. Perez's 10 first half points paced the Barry team as the Buccaneers carried a 37-27 lead at the half.

The Tarzans picked up where they left off before the half pulling within two with 10:55 remaining to play. The Bucs, however, erupted with 27 points in the final 10 minutes of the half for the 76-62 win.

Perez led the Buccaneer efforts with a game-high 17 points, while Clifford Smith added 15 points. Casey Johnson came off the bench to add 10 points for the Bucs, while point guard Ryan Saunders posted nine assists.

Christian Bianchi led the Tarzans with 17 points and 12 boards.

The Buccaneers will resume play on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 2 pm. hosting Valdosta State at the Health & Sports Center.
