Baseball Falls To Knights

Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Despite three Nova errors, the Barry University baseball team fell to the Nova Southeastern Knights 6-4 earlier tonight at Feinbloom Field.

The Knights jumped out in front in the top of the first inning scoring three runs. However, the Bucs rallied back in the bottom of the second and evened the score at three a piece sparked by a two-run homer by Chris Casale. The Knights went on to score two in the top of the fourth and one in the seventh taking a 6-3 lead. The Bucs tried to rally once again scoring once in the bottom of the seventh, but fell short falling 6-4.

Robert Penna (1-2) took the loss for the Buccaneers after hurling 3.1 innings while giving up five runs (four earned) on eight hits. Jimmy Sessions (1-2) earned the win for the Knights throwing four innings and giving up three unearned runs, while striking out two.

Casale paced the Bucs at the plate going two-for-four with his second career home run and two RBI. Christian Galt ended up leading the Knights after a two-for-four performance and three RBI.

The Bucs fell to 21-21 overall on the season, while the Knights improved to 22-25. The Bucs will resume action this weekend in a three-game Sunshine State Conference series at Saint Leo. The first game of the series is slated for Friday, Apr. 26 at 7 p.m.
